Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Pierre Le Pain (ranked 3773 p4p, 3833 weight class) and Andrew Mal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Pierre Le Pain! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Andrew Mal! The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Sam Margolis and Colin Fotheringham.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mal misses with a takedown attempt and Le Pain counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Le Pain. Le Pain pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage. Mal blocks the elbow strike.

Mal cracks Le Pain with a nice body shot. Mal breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Mal tries to close the distance and clinch up but Le Pain swats him away and circles back towards the center. Le Pain seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Mal. Mal has Le Pain up against the cage in a clinch.

Le Pain tries to keep at a distance but Mal has taken the fight into the clinch. Mal has Le Pain pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. No luck for Mal with that takedown attempt. Pierre Le Pain is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Mal scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

Mal is trying to break the clinch but Le Pain is controlling him. Mal goes for a takedown attempt but Le Pain pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Mal content to control rather than advance. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Andrew Mal dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Mal shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Le Pain but Le Pain pushes him off and we're back to square one. Le Pain is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Mal. Mal fails with a takedown attempt. Le Pain circles away from the clinch attempt.

Mal tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Le Pain paws at him with a jab and circles away. Nice straight punches there by Le Pain. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Le Pain. Mal dives in for a single leg takedown but Le Pain sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Mal is breathing heavily. Le Pain misses with a lunging right hand
and Mal counters with a one-two to the body. Mal blocks a jab. Le Pain throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Mal sees it coming and avoids it easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. No luck with that takedown attempt from Mal. Mal wants to clinch up but Le Pain keeps it at a distance. Mal is looking to clinch. Mal tries to clinch up but Le Pain circles away and keeps his distance. A big right from Le Pain misses. Le Pain jabbing away but nothing is landing. A swing and a miss from Le Pain. Mal shoots in for a takedown but Le Pain shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Le Pain misses the jab. Le Pain is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Mal's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems.

Le Pain tries to counter by clinching up but Mal breaks away and moves out of range. Le Pain throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Andrew Mal seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Le Pain throws the left hand but Mal avoids the punch easily. Mal dives in for a single leg takedown but Le Pain sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Le Pain lands with an overhand left. With the two fighters working up against the cage, Le Pain just misses with a elbow thrown towards Mal's brow. Mal tries to pull guard but Le Pain holds him up against the cage and eventually Mal drops back down to his feet.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Le Pain missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Le Pain trying to control the position from guard on top but Mal is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Le Pain might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Mal is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Le Pain on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Le Pain tries to get out of the position. Le Pain won't allow Mal to pass to mount. Mal seems to be looking for submissions.

And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Pierre Le Pain. I think Le Pain has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
