And in the blue corner, fighting out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 21 wins and 12 losses; Woodie Maykit! The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Reed Andrews and Russell Pearce.
The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
Cabrera closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Maykit's guard. Maykit keeping moving, preventing Cabrera from controlling successfully. Cabrera controls from within his opponent's guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Cabrera tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Maykit wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. A lull in the action here as Maykit stalls from top position.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Cabrera can't do much from the bottom here. Cabrera is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control. Maykit happy to just control the position for now.

It looks like Maykit might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

 That's eight minutes gone in the round. Cabrera is trying to improve his position. You can see the frustration on Cabrera's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Cabrera seems a little lost for a moment, as Maykit dominates the positioning.
