Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between April Boy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hayato Nobukara (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, April Boy! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hayato Nobukara! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Wesley Smith and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Boy is looking to clinch but Nobukara is avoiding it.
Nobukara scores with a leg kick.
Hayato Nobukara seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Nobukara throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Boy. Boy dodges the punch combination from Nobukara.
Nobukara misses with a series of wild punches.
Nice takedown defense from Nobukara. No joy for Boy on that attempt. Nobukara throws a head kick but Boy moves out of range.
Boy fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Boy closes this distance looking for a takedown but Nobukara circles away. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for April Boy. That's going to take a lot out of him. Boy looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Nobukara is fending him off so far but Boy persists. Nope, Nobukara circles away and we're back to standing. Nobukara throws a nice inside leg kick. Nobukara with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
That's one minute gone in the round. A right-left combo lands from Nobukara. Nobukara throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Nobukara tries to keep at a distance but Boy has taken the fight into the clinch. Boy is working for takedown but Nobukara is calmly controlling the position for now. Nobukara breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Boy keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Nobukara throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Boy fails with the takedown. Nobukara avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Boy on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Nobukara throws a leg kick but Boy moved away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nobukara rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Boy moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Boy scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Boy is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Boy is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Nobukara sees it coming and defends easily. Boy frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Boy content just to control the position here. Boy has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Nobukara wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Boy looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Nobukara holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Boy tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Boy working for a guillotine from mount but Nobukara is in no mood to give up. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Nobukara has given up his back - I don’t know if this is a deliberate ploy to try and escape or if he is just struggling down there.
Boy is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish. Nobukara defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Boy's arms. Nobukara looks gassed! Boy biding his time, controlling Nobukara. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
April Boy dominated that round. That's time! Boy's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Boy shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Nobukara as he avoids it easily. Nobukara misses with a series of wild punches.
Boy shoots in and bounces Nobukara off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Boy wants to control from the top but Nobukara keeps moving. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Boy slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Boy won't allow Nobukara to get back to his feet. Nobukara is breathing heavily. Boy controls from within his opponent's guard. Boy with a flurry of punches that miss. Boy slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Boy advances position into side control! Boy is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Nobukara is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Boy prevents Nobukara from escaping the position. Boy moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now. Boy seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Nobukara for as long as he can get away with.
The referee stands the fighters back up. April Boy just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Boy throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Nobukara's waist but Nobukara gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Boy off to one side. Boy looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Boy seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Boy pushing down on Nobukara's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Boy passes to side control. Boy decides to stand up, so the ref orders Nobukara to his feet. Boy scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Boy is staying tight to Nobukara's torso, preventing him from escaping. Boy tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Nobukara really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Boy. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Boy trying to control the position but Nobukara is working away. Boy controls the position. Boy stands up and we're back to a striking position. Boy closes the distance and clinches up with Nobukara, looking for a takedown. Boy pushes Nobukara against the cage but Nobukara circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for April Boy. That's going to take a lot out of him. Nobukara avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Boy fails to land the takedown. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
April Boy dominated that second round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Nope, Nobukara circles away and we're back to standing. Nobukara buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Boy shoots in for a takedown but Nobukara shows good takedown defense. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for April Boy. That's going to take a lot out of him. Nobukara throws a head kick that misses. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Boy is looking to clinch. Boy shoots in looking for a takedown. Nobukara tries to sprawl out of it but Boy keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Nobukara manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Nobukara does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Nobukara takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Boy looks for a takedown but Nobukara sprawls well. Boy slips a jab from Nobukara. April Boy is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Nobukara's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Nobukara duly obliges. Boy shoots in for a takedown but Nobukara shows good takedown defense. Boy misses with a takedown attempt - Nobukara sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Nobukara thows a body kick. Boy tries to catch it but that hurt him. Boy scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Boy takes a little break here. Nobukara wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. Boy lands an elbow. Boy is looking to take a break and control but Nobukara is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Boy thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Boy in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Boy tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Nobukara is trying to get back to his feet. April Boy is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Nobukara is letting Boy control him for a moment. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Nobukara can do anything to dispel that myth. Boy decides to stand back up. Hayato Nobukara is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Boy fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Boy looks for a takedown but Nobukara sprawls well. Boy darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Boy works his way into full mount! Boy unloads with some shots from mount but Nobukara bucks and avoids them well.
Hayato Nobukara has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Boy controlling the position easily from mount.
And that's the end of the fight! April Boy showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Boy, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
