Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Melvin Diaz!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Phil Schofield and Chris Edwards.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diaz drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Kobalia fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Diaz sprawls well initially but Kobalia persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Kobalia slips a nice elbow through Diaz's hands, connecting with Diaz's forehead.
Kobalia looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Diaz with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Kobalia drops back, looking for a kneebar! Diaz looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Diaz looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Diaz!
