Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Edmond Dantes (ranked 1031 p4p, 1121 weight class) and Shaman Weaver (ranked 112 p4p, 122 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Weaver's choice of entrance music: Close Your Eyes by Acen. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Shaman Weaver!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Shirou Masuda and Sosuke Kotani.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dantes on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Weaver lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Dantes uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Weaver.
Weaver lands with an uppercut that bounces Dantes off the cage and back into range.
Weaver throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Weaver missing with a left hand there. Dantes was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

We've been told by Dantes's head coaches at Sydney Top Team that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Weaver takes a shot right to the bread basket.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Dantes keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Weaver takes a swing at Dantes's ribcage but misses.

Horrible takedown attempt by Weaver or perhaps it was just good defense by Dantes, which made it look bad.
Edmond Dantes has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Shaman Weaver.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Dantes doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Shaman Weaver dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

It looked like Dantes was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Weaver will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Weaver drops his hands momentarily and Dantes takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

Dantes was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
