PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Andreas Andersson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ross Crede (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Andersson comes to the cage accompanied by Alive, Pearl Jam. Crede comes into a darkened arena with his song building. London Dungeon by The Misfits kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Andreas Andersson could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Ross Crede's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Andreas Andersson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Ross Crede!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Colin Fotheringham and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Andersson just misses with a punch to the body.
Crede has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Crede there as he acknowledges the shot.
Andersson wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Crede misses with an attempted mid kick.
Crede misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Crede throws a wild body kick that Andersson sees coming a mile off.
Andersson fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Crede manages to avoid it.
Andersson lands a jab to Crede's midsection.
Andersson tries to close the distance and clinch up but Crede swats him away and circles back towards the center.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Andersson.
Crede misses with a low kick as Andersson jumps back.
Crede keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Andersson looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Crede is fending him off so far but Andersson persists. Nope, Crede circles away and we're back to standing.
Andersson is trying hard to land a takedown here. Crede sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Andersson shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Crede pinned against the cage. Crede gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Crede takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

Andersson ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Crede moves away.

Andersson thows a huge punch but Crede dodges it nicely.
Andersson is trying to control the action in half guard but Crede is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Andersson tries to close the distance and clinch up but Crede swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Andersson tests Crede's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Andersson moves out of range of the body kick from Crede.
Andersson is looking to wear down Crede with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.

Andersson tries to clinch there but Crede circles away.
Crede leaves Andersson with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Nice straight punches there by Andersson. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Andersson.

and Andersson counters by moving into the clinch.
Andersson lands a nice uppercut.
Crede stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Crede misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Andersson is working for takedown but Crede is calmly controlling the position for now.
Andersson can't find room to land a body shot as Crede controls the action.
Andersson is working Crede over against the cage.
Andersson avoids the elbow strike from Crede, against the cage.
Crede tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Crede prevents the takedown attempt.
Crede tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Crede has Andersson pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Andersson manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Andersson has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Crede is trying to keep an underhook but Andersson manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Andersson thows a big elbow that misses, also allowing Crede to regain full guard.

Crede keeping moving, preventing Andersson from controlling successfully.
Andersson throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Crede works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Crede not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Andersson has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Andersson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Crede swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Crede has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Andersson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Crede seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Andersson misses with a takedown attempt - Crede sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

and Crede counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Crede passes into side control, despite Andersson's attempt to control the position.
Andersson can't do much from the bottom here.

Crede is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Andersson knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Andersson is looking for a sweep.
Andersson is trying to control Crede's posture but Crede avoids it.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Andersson tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Crede was well out of range. Poor timing from Andersson.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Andersson has his takedown stuffed

and Crede counters with a nice double leg into guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Andreas Andersson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Crede sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Andersson's guard.
Andersson works his way to full guard. Good work.
Andersson utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Crede. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Andersson throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Crede sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Andersson shoots in for a takedown but Crede shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Crede doesn't manage to clinch there - Andersson circles away.

Crede closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Crede lands in his opponent's guard.

Ross Crede showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The fight stays on the outside here - Crede looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Andersson tries to lock up and control but Crede gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Crede pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Ross Crede comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Crede has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
