Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vitus Shavnetski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Igor Armas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shavnetski kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is DMX - get it on the floor. Armas has chosen Enter Sandman as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Vitus Shavnetski! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Igor Armas! The judges for this bout are James Atkins, William Gold and Richard Clark.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Shavnetski moves into range and clinches up with Armas. Armas is trying to drag Shavnetski to the mat but Shavnetski just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Armas drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Shavnetski gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Shavnetski manages to break the clinch.
Shavnetski closes the distance and pushes Armas back into the cage. Armas jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Shavnetski walks away with a smile on his face. Armas gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Vitus Shavnetski has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Igor Armas. Armas shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Shavnetski defends it nicely. Armas throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Shavnetski's waist but Shavnetski gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Armas off to one side. Shavnetski misses with a few strikes there.

Armas displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Shavnetski throws out the jab. Shavnetski throws a low kick but Armas avoids it. Armas shoots for a takedown but Shavnetski saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. A combination from Shavnetski does no damage. Shavnetski cracks the inside of Armas's front leg. An inside leg kick lands from Shavnetski. Armas looks gassed! Nice straight punches there by Shavnetski. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Shavnetski. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Shavnetski tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. A decent looking cross lands there for Shavnetski.
That's one minute gone in the round. Armas closes this distance looking for a takedown but Shavnetski circles away. Shavnetski thuds a left hand into Armas's body. Shavnetski stalks Armas and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Armas's face. Armas staggers backwards, shaken. Shavnetski displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Shavnetski cracks Armas with an open hand slap. Shavnetski gets a clinch. Shavnetski pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Good shot there by Shavnetski. Shavnetski lands a head shot. Shavnetski will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Armas can't fight it off and eventually Shavnetski manages to take the fight to the floor. Armas looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Shavnetski working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Shavnetski lands a couple of digs. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Armas can do anything to dispel that myth. Armas trying to control the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Shavnetski's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Shavnetski wants to control from the top but Armas keeps moving. Armas looking to sweep here. No luck so far. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Shavnetski keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Armas's head. Shavnetski avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Shavnetski wants to stand but Armas has a closed guard, so he can't escape. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Armas looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Shavnetski moves into the clinch. Armas is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. A bit of stalling here from Shavnetski.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Armas advances to half guard. Armas seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Shavnetski does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Armas on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Armas dives in and grabs Shavnetski's left leg, looking for a takedown. Shavnetski pushes down on Armas's head and hops out. Shavnetski connects with a single shot there. Shavnetski lands with a thumping leg kick.
Shavnetski throws a series of punches but Armas moves out of range. Igor Armas seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Decent striking displayed by Shavnetski there. Shavnetski throws a nice looking combination but Armas bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Armas shoots in for a double leg but Shavnetski sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Armas on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.

Armas shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Shavnetski as he jumps to the side. Shavnetski smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Vitus Shavnetski is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Armas shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Shavnetski throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Shavnetski throws a right hand that Armas ducks under and follows up with a left that Armas also avoids with ease. He's pushed Armas's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Armas misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Armas throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Shavnetski escapes and throws Armas's legs to the side, diving into side control! Armas is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Armas struggling a bit here. Shavnetski is putting a hurting on Armas here, landing some big shots from side control. Armas wants to control but Shavnetski postures up. Armas tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Shavnetski presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount! Armas tries to get back to half guard but can't. Armas takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Armas is desperately trying to improve his position but Shavnetski has a good base and remains in mount. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

And that's the end of the fight! Vitus Shavnetski showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Shavnetski, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
