Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Smith (ranked 4693 p4p, 3129 weight class) and Shashlyk Lykmekov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shashlyk Lykmekov is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, John Smith! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 14 - 10 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Shashlyk Lykmekov! The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Aafke Stam and Wagner Zegers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Smith throws a body kick that misses. Lykmekov fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Smith avoids it really well and circles away. Lykmekov throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Smith. Smith throws a quick counter kick to the body but Lykmekov avoids it. Lykmekov throws a head kick that misses. Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Smith lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Lykmekov has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Lykmekov and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Smith thows a leg kick but Lykmekov checks it and Lykmekov holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Lykmekov misses with a knee strike.

Lykmekov tries for a takedown but Smith manages to get underhooks.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lykmekov decides to pull guard. Smith will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Smith wants to stand and escape but instead Lykmekov has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Smith is working an open guard so Lykmekov takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Smith tries to land a front kick but Lykmekov steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. A low kick from Smith misses and Lykmekov counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Lykmekov in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Lykmekov is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Lykmekov's corner is telling him to maintain position. Lykmekov works a leg free and moves into half guard. Lykmekov takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Lykmekov throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well, if Lykmekov is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Smith is trying to stand.
Lykmekov perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Smith is in trouble now - Lykmekov has advanced to mount! Lykmekov thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!

That's three minutes gone in the round. Lykmekov controlling the position easily from mount. Let's hope that Lykmekov has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Lykmekov is standing up, even though he is in mount. We've been told by Smith's head coaches at Cozad Amsterdam that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Lykmekov darts in and clinches Smith up against the cage. Lykmekov has Smith pressed against the cage, preventing Smith from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Lykmekov ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Lykmekov no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Smith has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Lykmekov is proving hard to escape from. Lykmekov has his hands on Smith's head, controlling the position. Lykmekov throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Lykmekov pulls Smith in to control the position. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Lykmekov pushes Smith off and scrambles back to his feet.
Smith throws a lazy body kick and Lykmekov counters with a lovely straight right hand!
It looks like John Smith has been cut. Smith tried to score with a low kick but Lykmekov checks it. Smith throws a body kick that misses. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Shashlyk Lykmekov dominated that round. The cut man is working on John Smith's cut. That's time! Back to the action!
Lykmekov shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Lykmekov was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Lykmekov decides to stand back up. Lykmekov bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Smith wants to get back to his feet but Lykmekov is dominant here and he's now got Smith's back! Lykmekov slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Lykmekov looking for the choke but no joy. Lykmekov biding his time, looking for the opening.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lykmekov is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Smith is defending well though. Lykmekov let's go of the attempt for now. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Lykmekov working for the rear naked choke here. He's got one arm under but Smith is defending well. A couple of punches soften him up though and Lykmekov has tightened the hold! This one could be all over! It is! Smith taps out!
