Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Y cage (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Catalina (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). cage comes into the arena with Don't let me be misunderstood blaring out of the sound system. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Y cage! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, James Catalina! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Cecil Peabody and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! cage displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. Catalina looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Catalina closes the distance and clinches. Catalina breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. cage lands with a thumping leg kick.
cage throws a chopping leg kick but Catalina manages to avoid taking any serious damage. Catalina misses with a combination
and cage counters with a stiff right hand. cage throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
A slapping leg kick lands for cage.
cage goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. cage throws a series of strikes that have Catalina backpedaling.
cage lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.

Catalina gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Catalina wants to clinch but cage slips to the side and cage counters with a stiff right hand. cage shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than cage was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! cage looking to control and managing it successfully.
That's one minute gone in the round. cage seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Catalina for as long as he can get away with.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Y cage just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Catalina takes one on the button.

Horrible takedown by cage or perhaps it was just good defense by Catalina which made him look bad. cage with a hook. Catalina misses with a right hand and cage counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Catalina moves forwards but cage connects with a nice, crisp jab. cage tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target. Catalina misses with a right hand and cage makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. cage moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Decent striking displayed by cage there. cage scores with a punch to the head. cage misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. cage fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. cage attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.

Catalina misses with a double jab
and Catalina takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Catalina closes the distance but cage moves to the side and cage counters with a lovely straight right hand! cage misses with a jab, cross combination.
Catalina tries to grapple but his opponent circles and cage counters with a one-two to the body. cage shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Catalina as he avoids it easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Y cage. That's going to take a lot out of him. Catalina misses with a takedown and Catalina takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. cage lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. cage finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.

Y cage dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

cage lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. cage looks to land a combination. Catalina sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Catalina rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and cage connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. cage scores with the left hand. Catalina knows he should have avoided that one. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. cage throws a series of punches but Catalina avoids them all with ease. cage will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Catalina moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Catalina throws a wild body kick that cage sees coming a mile off. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. cage bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Catalina's head backwards. cage cracks Catalina with a good jab. Catalina looks to clinch and cage counters with a thumping low kick. cage's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and cage duly obliges. cage throws a series of punches but Catalina avoids them all with ease. Catalina darts in trying to clinch and cage counters with a stiff right hand. A nice combination there by cage.
Y cage is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Catalina closes the distance and clinches up with cage, looking for a takedown. Catalina pushes cage against the cage but cage circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. cage throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Catalina misses with a few strikes there.
Catalina avoids a low kick by using good footwork. Catalina doesn't manage to clinch there - cage circles away.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. cage lands a jab to the nose. Nice cross by cage. Catalina wants to clinch. Catalina throws a left and a right that both miss
and cage counters with a three punch combo that has Catalina backing up. Catalina nods at cage to acknowledge the strikes. Catalina has his head snapped back a nice jab. Jab, jab by cage - just one landing. cage tries to land a front kick but Catalina steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Catalina on the wrong end of a nice hook. cage lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Nice sprawl there from Catalina as cage shoots in. cage lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. James Catalina seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Catalina has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from cage finds it's way round the side to connect with Catalina's head. cage with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

Catalina knows he should have avoided that one. cage gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Catalina cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Catalina tries to clinch but cage is having none of it. Catalina has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. cage moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. cage swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

Decent striking displayed by cage there. Catalina takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! A chopping leg kick lands by cage. cage closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Catalina! cage dives in looking to finish! Catalina is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!
