Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, David Gomes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Butch Cassidy!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, William Gold and Steven Brown.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cassidy moves into the clinch.
Gomes goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Gomes fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Gomes avoids a wild elbow strike from Cassidy.
I was talking to Gomes's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Gomes ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Gomes no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Gomes looking for a guillotine here but Cassidy defends easily.
Cassidy is looking to stand up but Gomes won't let him.
Cassidy wants to control from the top but Gomes keeps moving.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gomes manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Cassidy manages to get himself to full guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Cassidy had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Gomes defends it easily.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Gomes trying to control the position from guard on top but Cassidy is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Cassidy scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Gomes wants to improve his position but Cassidy is controlling well.
Gomes gets back to full guard.
Cassidy got a little sloppy there for a moment and Gomes has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Cassidy has managed to get both his arms back between Gomes's legs - danger averted.
Cassidy really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gomes. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Gomes pushes a forearm under Cassidy's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Cassidy is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
