Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Paxton Summers! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Cassius Maynard! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Summers rushes Maynard and presses him up against the cage. Summers stops a takedown attempt from Maynard.
Maynard is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Summers gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Summers is trying to break the clinch but Maynard is controlling him. Summers wants to get back to striking at distance but Maynard won't allow it.

Paxton Summers has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Cassius Maynard. Summers cracks Maynard with a nice body shot. Summers is pressed up against the cage. Maynard has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Summers down to the mat. Summers avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Maynard with a poor takedown and Summers counters with a two punch combo. Summers scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Summers slaps away a takedown attempt from Maynard, before circling back to the center of the mat. As Maynard looks to move away, Summers throws a big counter combo but Maynard just gets out of the way. Maynard shoots in for a double leg but Summers sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. As Maynard tries to get set, Summers tries to push him back and clinch up but Maynard manages to avoid the attempt. Maynard fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Summers avoids it really well and circles away. Summers swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
That's one minute gone in the round. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Maynard is defended easily by Summers. Summers thuds a left hand into Maynard's body. Summers moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Maynard fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Summers looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Maynard shoots in for a takedown but Summers shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Summers rushes Maynard and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Summers breaks the clinch.
Maynard tries for a takedown but Summers circles away easily and Summers counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Summers misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Maynard shoots in for a double leg but Summers sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Summers gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Summers breaks from the clinch.
Summers stuffs the takedown. Cassius Maynard seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Summers throws a nice looking combination but Maynard bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Summers forces Maynard back against the cage and clinches. Summers scores with an uppercut up the middle. Summers presses Maynard against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Maynard wants to take the fight to the mat but Summers manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Summers wants to break the clinch but can't.

Maynard looks winded! Maynard is looking for a takedown. Summers wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Summers breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Summers lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Maynard is rocked! Maynard looks for a takedown but Summers sprawls well. Summers throws a series of punches but Maynard moves out of range. Maynard is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own. Summers lands with a hook. Maynard tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Maynard is still on wobbly legs! Can Summers finish him? Summers rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Maynard moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Maynard seems to have recovered his senses. Summers takes the fight into the clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Summers's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Summers connects with a good straight punch right through the guard and follows up with a right hook and a left hook! That last one sent Maynard tumbling to the canvas! Summers pours on the pressure with more strikes and the referee has no hesitation diving in to stop the fight! Maynard was done - good stoppage!
