Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Bruce Hardman (ranked 2357 p4p, 24192 weight class) and Nathan Rook (ranked 192 p4p, 336 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 9 - 8 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Bruce Hardman! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nathan Rook! The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Shigeki Sano and Shigeki Fujiwara.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hardman lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Rook circles away quickly and effectively. Hardman scores with a punch to the head. Hardman throws a nice looking combination but Rook bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Rook throws a body punch but Hardman moves out of range. Hardman looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Rook throws a body shot but no joy. Rook throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Hardman doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Hardman walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Hardman looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Rook swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Hardman. Rook stuffs the takedown. The fighters circling - Rook throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Jab, jab by Rook - just one landing. This has been an exciting period of action! Some wild striking there from Rook.

That's one minute gone in the round. Rook steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Hardman. Rook fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Hardman manages to avoid it. The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky. Hardman shoots in and gets a takedown into Rook's guard. That was a close round but I would say that Bruce Hardman will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Hardman trying to keep a closed guard but Rook is proving a slippery customer.
Rook makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Rook lands a couple of elbows. Rook throws a strike but Hardman rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Hardman is pushing down on Rook's leg trying to pass to half guard. Rook is fighting to maintain full guard but Hardman has managed to sneak the leg through. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Rook tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. Hardman seems to be looking for submissions.
