Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jimmy Skoog (ranked 2084 p4p, 3213 weight class) and Henry Shorts (ranked 264 p4p, 383 weight class). Jimmy Skoog is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jimmy Skoog!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 8 - 0, fighting out of London, Henry Shorts!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Ren Mimura and Yuuki Gou.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shorts shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Skoog defends it nicely.
Skoog slaps away a takedown attempt from Shorts, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Shorts shoots in for a double leg but Skoog sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Jimmy Skoog has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Henry Shorts.

Shorts drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Skoog defends it well.

Skoog falls off balance throwing a combination
and Shorts counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Skoog is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Shorts presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Shorts tries to pull guard but Skoog won't allow it.

Shorts is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Skoog pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Shorts jumps guard but Skoog turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Shorts wants the takedown. Skoog is fighting it off but Shorts persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Skoog's guard against the cage.

Shorts is looking to work some ground and pound but Skoog has wrist control.
Shorts stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Skoog swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Skoog controls Shorts momentarily but Shorts frees himself.
Shorts postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Shorts has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Skoog working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Shorts doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Shorts manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Skoog is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Shorts defends well.

Shorts throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Skoog works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Skoog's coaches at The Tank Factory have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position.
Skoog is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Shorts scores with a couple of nice shots.

Shorts is nestled in close to Skoog, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Skoog is looking for a sweep. Shorts is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Shorts lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Shorts prevents Skoog from improving his position.

Shorts lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Skoog has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Shorts is working away from the top position though.
Shorts is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Skoog defends it well.
Skoog wants to control but Shorts is keeping busy and won't allow it.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Shorts working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well.
Shorts is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Skoog has hold of Shorts's hands but Shorts slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Henry Shorts will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Skoog cracks Shorts with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Shorts scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Skoog manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Shorts keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.
Skoog is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Skoog unloads with a big right hand that wobbles Shorts! He's leaning against the cage trying to keep his feet but Skoog is unloading with more strikes now! Shorts drops to his knees and the referee stops the fight for a TKO!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jimmy Skoog!
A determined Jimmy Skoog didn't want to dwell on this fight in his post fight interview. Instead he was more keen to state he wants a title shot. Let's see if he gets it!
