PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Eric Frost (ranked 81 p4p, 780 weight class) and Gregor Reilly (ranked 12 p4p, 83 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Frost might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Procreation (of the Wicked). Reilly has chosen Cannonball/ The Breeders as his entrance music. Gregor Reilly acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Eric Frost!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 8 - 1, fighting out of London, Gregor Reilly!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Hirohito Nitta and Kenichi Hosakawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reilly misses with a wild body shot.
Reilly ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Frost moves away.
Reilly misses with an uppercut. Frost saw that one coming.
Frost attempts a counter takedown but Reilly avoids it well and moves away.
Reilly jabs at Frost's body.

Frost drives through with a takedown into Reilly's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Frost scoring with some ground and pound.
Reilly has control of Frost's left arm, preventing Frost from doing any damage.
Frost stands and throws Reilly's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Frost passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Reilly!
Reilly tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Reilly wants to control but Frost is having none of it.
Frost tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Frost wants to control the action but instead Reilly gets a body lock and reverses into Frost's guard! Nice work!
Frost keeping moving, preventing Reilly from controlling successfully.
Frost bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Reilly's guard.

Frost content to stall in guard here.

Frost drops back looking for a leg! Reilly is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Reilly manages to kick Frost off! Frost jumps back into Reilly's guard.
Reilly has control of Frost's left arm, preventing Frost from doing any damage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Reilly can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Frost controls the pace.
Frost pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Reilly is keeping the position for now.
Reilly is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Frost definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Frost has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Frost stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Reilly swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Reilly seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Frost is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Reilly throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Frost stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Reilly tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Frost was well out of range. Poor timing from Reilly.
Reilly throws an overhand right that lands on Frost's shoulder, as Frost tries to avoid the shot.
Frost slips a jab from Reilly.
Reilly is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Frost rather than just go for the knockout.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Reilly scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Frost doesn't seem bothered though.
Reilly misses the shot to the body.

Frost shoots in and bounces Reilly off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Reilly looking to control.
Reilly is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Reilly is trying to hold Frost in close to prevent damage but Frost has managed to pass into half guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Reilly is looking to improve his position.
Frost looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Eric Frost dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Reilly scores with a nice strike.
Reilly bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Reilly scores with a punch to the head.
Frost takes one on the chin but seems OK.

Frost feints and as Reilly raises his hands in defense, Frost changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Frost is looking to work some ground and pound but Reilly has wrist control.
Frost wants to pass the guard but Reilly is keeping the position.
Reilly looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Frost drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Reilly manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Frost has Reilly in his guard.

Eric Frost overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Frost throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Reilly slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Reilly trying to control the action but Frost is working from the bottom.
Reilly is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Frost tries to buck Reilly off but Reilly is having none of it.
You can see the frustration on Frost's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Frost is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Reilly off and has taken his back!

Frost working for the rear naked choke here. He's got one arm under but Reilly is defending well. A couple of punches soften him up though and Frost has tightened the hold! This one could be all over! It is! Reilly taps out!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:19 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Eric Frost!
Eric Frost decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
