Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Kai Asakura (ranked 2566 p4p, 3599 weight class) and Ftank Rank (ranked 174 p4p, 225 weight class). The key to victory for Kai Asakura has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ftank Rank!
The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Igor Prikhodko and Viktor Lagutenko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Asakura lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

Rank is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.

Rank gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Asakura counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Rank might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Rank gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Asakura displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Rank throws out the jab.

Both these guys seem content to just stand up and trade with each other but Rank might want to think about changing up his gameplan a bit because over the course of the fight, Asakura has got the better of the exchanges.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Rank swings around for an armbar but Asakura sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Rank's guard.
Asakura would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Rank wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Asakura, as that shot connected.
Rank throws out a loose jab but Asakura uses good head movement to avoid it.

Asakura wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Rank manages to pass to side control.

Rank seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Asakura does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Rank passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Asakura!

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Rank trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Asakura is trying to stand up.

And that's the end of the fight!
Kai Asakura showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Asakura, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
