Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Clint Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cornelius Jacobs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Clint Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cornelius Jacobs!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Tiny Johnson and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Jones moves into the clinch successfully.
Jones goes for a takedown attempt but Jacobs pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Jones closes the distance and clinches.
Jones looking for a takedown.
Jones has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Jacobs is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Clint Jones. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Jones is struggling to control the position.
Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Jacobs.
Jones jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Jacobs walks away with a smile on his face. Jones gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Jones is trying to drag Jacobs to the mat but Jacobs just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Jones blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Jacobs successfully pulls guard.
Jones wants to control from the top but Jacobs keeps moving.
Jones looking to sit in guard and control but Jacobs gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Jones pulls Jacobs in close to prevent any damage.
Jones might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Jones is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Jacobs is aware though and is defending well.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Jones not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Jacobs drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Jones dives on top into guard.
Jones stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jacobs swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Jacobs working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Jones doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Jones manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Jacobs is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jacobs can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Jones is looking to escape.
Jones reaches up to try and control the position but Jacobs seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Jones rolls and tries to escape and now Jacobs has his back!
Jones is covering up but some of the strikes from Jacobs are getting through and doing damage.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Jones is trying hard to land a takedown here. Jacobs sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Jones avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Jones tries to free his leg and advance position but Jacobs is retaining full guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

and Jones counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Jacobs's guard now.

Clint Jones dominated that second round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

and Jacobs counters with a single leg into guard. Jones didn't expect that.

Jones isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Jacobs stacks Jones on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Jacobs!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Jacobs is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

Despite being in the dominant position, Cornelius Jacobs just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Cornelius Jacobs comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Jacobs has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
