PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Xzavier Robertson (ranked 3770 p4p, 2641 weight class) and Conner Mclovin (ranked 338 p4p, 254 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Xzavier Robertson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Conner Mclovin!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Dean Styles and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Robertson uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Mclovin.

Mclovin takes the fight into the clinch.

Mclovin lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Mclovin is thwarting Robertson's attempts to control the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Mclovin looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Robertson with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Mclovin is trying to control the action in half guard but Robertson is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Mclovin lands with a punch from half guard.
Mclovin is figuring out what he wants to do next.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mclovin thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Robertson is pressing down on Mclovin's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Mclovin is keen to just control but Robertson is a slippery customer.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Robertson moves away from the strike by Mclovin.
Robertson shoots in but no luck this time.
Robertson is breathing heavily.
Mclovin darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Mclovin closes this distance looking for a takedown but Robertson circles away.

Mclovin fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Robertson, pushing him back against the cage.

Mclovin successfully pulls guard.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Conner Mclovin dominated that round.
That's time! Robertson's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Mclovin lands a big head kick that sends Robertson tumbling to the mat! Mclovin takes a step backwards and waves Robertson back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Robertson is still looking wobbly from the end of the last round!

It looks like Xzavier Robertson has been cut.
Robertson leaves his chin hanging out and Mclovin seizes the opportunity with an uppercut! Robertson crumbles to the floor in a heap, and the referee steps in and tends to the downed fighter! What a knockout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:10 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Conner Mclovin!
