Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Salvador Orivarez! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Kimbo Slaissi! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Jack Bonds and Percy O'Donnell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Orivarez will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Slaissi lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected. Orivarez shoots and misses and Slaissi counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Orivarez tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Slaissi defends well and Orivarez ends up having to push Slaissi into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Salvador Orivarez. That's going to take a lot out of him. Orivarez tries to work over Slaissi's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Slaissi is defending well against a takedown attempt. Slaissi scores with a nice hook to the head. Orivarez struggles to land a body shot inside as Slaissi controls his hands.
Orivarez has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Slaissi after a bit of a struggle. A body shot lands from Slaissi.
Slaissi lands a left hand.
Slaissi gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Orivarez.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Slaissi slowing the pace effectively. Orivarez fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Orivarez looking for a takedown. Slaissi breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Orivarez shoots and misses letting Slaissi counter with a right hand. Slaissi has worked on his takedown defense in the runup to this fight and it is paying off so far. Slaissi jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Orivarez looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Slaissi is fending him off so far but Orivarez persists. Nope, Slaissi circles away and we're back to standing. A nice side step and Slaissi releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
That's one minute gone in the round. Slaissi chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Kimbo Slaissi is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Slaissi connects with a body shot. Slaissi lands a big right hand that sends Orivarez crashing to the mat! Slaissi stays standing though and waves Orivarez back to his feet!
Orivarez is rocked!
It looks like Salvador Orivarez has been cut. Orivarez doesn't succeed with the takedown and Slaissi rattles Orivarez with a well-timed uppercut counter. - Orivarez tries to back away and recover but his hands are down low and he gets tagged again, sending him stumbling down to the canvas. Slaissi dives in after him and quickly finishes the job with a trio of brutal punches, leaving Orivarez stiff and motionless on the mat!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:20 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Kimbo Slaissi! Kimbo Slaissi is the new heavyweight champion!
