Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Robbie Shakespeare (ranked 957 p4p, 2189 weight class) and Lukasz Patryk (ranked 120 p4p, 250 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 17 - 12 - 0, fighting out of New York, Robbie Shakespeare! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 12 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Lukasz Patryk! The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Patryk throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Shakespeare's waist but Shakespeare gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Patryk off to one side. Shakespeare lands a jab to Patryk's midsection. Shakespeare falls off balance throwing a combination
and Patryk counters with a left and a right that stings Shakespeare. Shakespeare lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Shakespeare displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Patryk. Shakespeare is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Patryk. Patryk takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
It looks like Lukasz Patryk has been cut. Patryk clinches up against the cage. Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Patryk. Shakespeare escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Shakespeare lands a jab.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shakespeare scores to the head and body with a nice combination! Patryk closes the distance and clinches up with Shakespeare, looking for a takedown. Patryk pushes Shakespeare against the cage but Shakespeare circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Robbie Shakespeare has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lukasz Patryk. Patryk takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Patryk misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Patryk fails with the takedown. Patryk is sent reeling backwards by a solid uppercut. He barely regains his balance and Shakespeare moves in for the kill throwing a continuous barrage of punches that force the ref to step in.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Robbie Shakespeare! A relieved looking Robbie Shakespeare thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it. The defeated Lukasz Patryk had this to say: 'I will never give up!'.
