Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Habibi Barishnikov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mikey Lopez!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Chris Saunders and Micheangelo Fripello.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barishnikov shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Barishnikov tries to clinch up.
Lopez slips a jab and a cross from Barishnikov.
Lopez takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
It looks like Mikey Lopez has been cut.
Lopez throws a combination that misses
letting Barishnikov counter with a right hand.
The fight moves into the clinch position.
Barishnikov pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The fight stays on the outside here - Barishnikov looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Lopez drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Barishnikov defends it well.
Oooooh!!! Barishnikov has knocked Lopez down with a huge combo! Barishnikov steps away and waves a wobbly Lopez back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
Lopez is rocked!
That's one minute gone in the round.
Barishnikov goes for a small jab and connects. Now Barishnikov goes in closer pressing the issue. Left hook, right straight! Lopez stumbles back but Barishnikov runs in with a huge uppercut knocking Lopez to the ground! What a finish! You have to wonder if Lopez will ever be the same after a knockout like that.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:06 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Habibi Barishnikov!
