Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Alex Chito (ranked 3022 p4p, 3885 weight class) and Claudio Castelo (ranked 288 p4p, 351 weight class). Alex Chito has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Alex Chito! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Claudio Castelo! The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, James Atkins and Sam Margolis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Chito throws a series of punches but Castelo avoids them all with ease. Castelo with the counter takedown but Chito avoids it easily. Chito swinging wildly here.
Castelo changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Castelo fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Chito fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Castelo to the ground. Chito is now in Castelo's guard. Chito throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Castelo is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Chito seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. Chito uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Castelo has time to react. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Chito misses with an uppercut. Castelo saw that one coming. No luck with that takedown attempt from Castelo. Chito went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. Chito's jab looks to have found its range, popping Castelo under the eye. Chito throws a nice looking combination but Castelo bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Castelo takes one to the chin there. Chito throws a right hand that Castelo ducks under and follows up with a left that Castelo also avoids with ease. Chito throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Castelo on the side of the head. Chito looks to throw the jab but Castelo is out of range. Castelo with the counter takedown but Chito avoids it easily. Alex Chito is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. The fighters circling - Chito throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Chito tries to sprawl but Castelo drives through with a takedown into half guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Chito trying to control here.
Castelo is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Chito is just riding it out for now. Castelo eventually gives up the hold. Claudio Castelo has got the better of the ground game so far. Castelo is looking for a kimura here.

Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Chito! Chito tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. Chito thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Claudio Castelo has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Castelo creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Chito sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Castelo tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Castelo has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Alex Chito. Well Chito has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... In favor of your winner, by unanimous decision... Alex Chito! Alex Chito decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
