Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Shavkat Buckley (ranked 2582 p4p, 3229 weight class) and Colt Ho (ranked 310 p4p, 381 weight class). Shavkat Buckley could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Colt Ho's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Shavkat Buckley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Colt Ho!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Cecil Peabody and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jab from Buckley.
Colt Ho seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Ho fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Buckley, pushing him back against the cage.
Ho lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Ho working some nice short punches in the clinch.
A right hook to the body lands for Ho.

Ho has Buckley pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Ho pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Buckley tumbling to the mat - Ho dives into Buckley's guard.
Ho prevents Buckley from getting back to his feet.
Ho tries to stand but Buckley is controlling from the bottom.
Buckley is looking to stand up but Ho isn't so interested in that idea.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ho would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Ho wants to stand and escape but instead Buckley has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Buckley wants to control from the top but Ho keeps moving.

Buckley is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Ho is looking to stand up but Buckley isn't so interested in that idea.
Buckley has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
Ho keeping moving, preventing Buckley from controlling successfully.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Ho pushes Buckley up against the cage in a clinch.
Buckley blocks a body shot from Ho.
Ho keeps control of Buckley as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Buckley jumps into guard, dragging Ho to the mat.
Ho looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Buckley is looking to stand up but Ho isn't so interested in that idea.
Ho really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Buckley. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Ho wanted to stand there but Buckley had control of the position.

Buckley is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Ho dives into side control.
Buckley wants to get back to his feet but Ho is dominant here and he's now got Buckley's back!

Buckley is fighting off a takedown attempt but Ho is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Buckley to the mat. Buckley regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Ho wants to stand and escape but instead Buckley has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Ho will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Buckley rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Ho moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
No joy there for Ho, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Buckley tries to pull guard but Ho holds him up against the cage and eventually Buckley drops back down to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Buckley has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Ho uses from the top position.

Ho lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.

Ho has hold of one of Buckley's legs. Buckley is fighting the takedown attempt but Ho gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Buckley scrambles and gets back to his feet.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Buckley tries to pull guard but Ho holds him up against the cage and eventually Buckley drops back down to his feet.

Buckley has had enough of the clinch but Ho keeps him there for the moment.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Shavkat Buckley. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Ho is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Buckley can't fight it off and eventually Ho manages to take the fight to the floor. Buckley looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Ho is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

Buckley has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Ho has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
Ho has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Ho gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Buckley regains guard.
Ho has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Buckley is proving hard to escape from.
Ho won't allow Buckley to get back to his feet.

Buckley has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Ho is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.
Ho lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Buckley fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Ho tries to work over Buckley's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Ho lands a shot to the body.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Ho has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Buckley is trying to keep an underhook but Ho manages to get the takedown into half guard.

Colt Ho showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Buckley jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Ho walks away with a smile on his face. Buckley gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Ho misses with a wild combination.
Buckley fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Ho manages to avoid it.

Ho closes the distance and pushes Buckley back into the cage.
Buckley stalling in the clinch but Ho improves position.

Ho has Buckley pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Ho pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Buckley tumbling to the mat - Ho dives into Buckley's guard.

Ho turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!

Ho decides to stand back up. Ho steps back and let's Buckley get back to his feet.
Buckley throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Colt Ho is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Buckley moves out of range as Ho strikes.

Ho closes the distance and clinches.
Nice body punch from Ho.
Buckley throws a knee to the head but misses.

I've got Ho winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
