Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Wulong Li (ranked 2478 p4p, 3372 weight class) and John Malxoey (ranked 302 p4p, 392 weight class). John Malxoey has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Wulong Li!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Malxoey!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Daniel Blasius and Radbod Blank.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Malxoey throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Li appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Malxoey stuffs the takedown.
Malxoey throws out a counter right but Li avoids it with no problem.
Li has his takedown stuffed
and Malxoey counters with a series of strikes. Li will be more careful next time no doubt.
Malxoey fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Li on the side of the head.
A telegraphed right hand from Malxoey misses the target.
Li dives in for a single leg takedown but Malxoey sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Wulong Li. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Malxoey escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Li closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Malxoey stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Malxoey fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Li, pushing him back against the cage.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.

Li fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Malxoey fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Li on the side of the head.
Malxoey loads up on a big right hand but Li slips the punch.

Li half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Li shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Malxoey defends it nicely.
Li shoots in for a double leg but Malxoey sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Malxoey looks to land a combination. Li sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Li tries to score a power double leg takedown but Malxoey sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Li somewhat.
Li takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Li darts in looking for a takedown but Malxoey gets double underhooks and turns Li into the cage.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Malxoey breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Li is trying hard to land a takedown here. Malxoey sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
A little jabbing left from Malxoey on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Malxoey misses the jab.
Malxoey uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Li has time to react.

No luck for Li with that takedown attempt.
Li shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Malxoey pinned against the cage. Malxoey gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Li doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Malxoey counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Li thinking.
Li displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Malxoey throws out the jab.
Malxoey misses with the combination.
Li attempts a counter takedown but Malxoey avoids it well and moves away.
Malxoey might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Malxoey rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Li counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Malxoey can do anything to dispel that myth.
Li is figuring out what he wants to do next.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Li lands a nice short elbow.

Li looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Malxoey is not content to let Li control the position.
Malxoey looks like he's trying to stand up.
Li is thwarting Malxoey's attempts to control the position.
Li wants to lay and pray for a moment but Malxoey keeps working.
Li has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Li uses his free foot to push down on Malxoey's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Malxoey.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Malxoey wants to try and get back to his feet.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
John Malxoey dominated that round.

Malxoey looks to throw the jab but Li is out of range.
John Malxoey seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Malxoey sizes up Li with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

Malxoey has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Li working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Malxoey is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Li postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Malxoey struggling a bit here.
Wulong Li overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Malxoey is looking for a sweep.
Li is putting a hurting on Malxoey here, landing some big shots from side control.

Li works to advance to full mount. Malxoey defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Li can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Malxoey is looking to escape.

Li loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Malxoey scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Li land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Li stands and salutes the crowd.

An out of breath Wulong Li thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
