The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Aydin moves into the clinch successfully.
Hedegaard fails to pull guard.

Hedegaard slips nicely into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Aydin wants to control but Hedegaard is keeping busy and won't allow it. Hedegaard tries to pass to full mount but Aydin defends it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Aydin moves into full guard.
Hedegaard controls from within his opponent's guard. Aydin is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Hedegaard content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Aydin has locked up a guillotine! Aydin's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Hedegaard is holding on here and Aydin must be using up a lot of energy. Hedegaard has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Aydin gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
