Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lars Gunnar Ekberg (ranked 3636 p4p, 3392 weight class) and Demarion Mathis (ranked 414 p4p, 391 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Demarion Mathis!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Dillan Fox and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A momentary lapse in concentration from Mathis enables Ekberg to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Mathis manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Ekberg trying to control the position from guard on top but Mathis is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Ekberg is pushing down on Mathis's leg trying to pass to half guard. Mathis is fighting to maintain full guard but Ekberg has managed to sneak the leg through.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ekberg is trying to control the action in half guard but Mathis is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ekberg is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Mathis sees it coming and defends easily.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Ekberg lands a nice short elbow.
Mathis looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Mathis has hold of Ekberg's hands but Ekberg slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ekberg works his way into side control.
Ekberg is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Mathis has escaped the position, nice work there.
Ekberg tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Ekberg is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Mathis knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Ekberg goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Mathis rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Ekberg's guard! Nice work there by Mathis!
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Ekberg seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Mathis wants to pass the guard but Ekberg is keeping the position.
Ekberg pulls Mathis in close to his closed guard and prevents Mathis from doing any damage or advancing position.

Ekberg is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Ekberg thows a huge punch but Mathis dodges it nicely.
Ekberg is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Mathis is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
