Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Francois Bourbon (ranked 5157 p4p, 3721 weight class) and Buzz Schock (ranked 0 p4p, 291 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Francois Bourbon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Buzz Schock!
The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Matheus Silva and Paulo Santos.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Schock shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Bourbon as he avoids it easily.
Bourbon goes for a double leg but Schock avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Schock continues to drive forward.
Bourbon has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Schock is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Bourbon is working for takedown but Schock is calmly controlling the position for now.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Francois Bourbon. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Bourbon has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Schock is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Schock looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Schock drops down looking for an ankle pick but Bourbon pulls his leg out and moves away.

Bourbon jumps guard but Schock turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Schock gets control of Bourbon's arms and successfully pulls guard. Schock will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Schock had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Bourbon defends it easily.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Bourbon trying to control the position from guard on top but Schock is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Schock looking for subs off his back but Bourbon has passed one foot through into half guard.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Bourbon is keen to just control but Schock is a slippery customer.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Schock holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Bourbon closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Bourbon stops a takedown attempt from Schock.
Bourbon tries for a takedown but Schock manages to get underhooks.

Bourbon manages to pull guard.
Bourbon wants to sweep here but Schock controlling him for the moment.

Bourbon escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Schock gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Schock throwing strikes from guard but Bourbon blocks nicely.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bourbon wants to stand and escape but Schock is having none of it.
Schock wants to control from the top but Bourbon keeps moving.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

That was a close round but I would say that Francois Bourbon will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Bourbon shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Schock is trying to defend but Bourbon finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Bourbon has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Schock looks to land a combination but Bourbon avoids it well.
Bourbon tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Schock swivels and escapes.

and Bourbon decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Schock's guard.
Bourbon slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Francois Bourbon.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Bourbon, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
