Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Raized Headers! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Fedor Emelianenko! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Frank Dennis and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Emelianenko will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Headers tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Emelianenko paws at him with a jab and circles away. Emelianenko fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Headers sprawls well initially but Emelianenko persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Headers is pressing down on Emelianenko's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Emelianenko working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Emelianenko thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Headers is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Emelianenko sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Headers's guard. Emelianenko is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Headers knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Emelianenko on the ground. Emelianenko prevents Headers from standing back up.
Emelianenko seems to be working for a kimura but Headers defends the submission attempt. Emelianenko looks gassed! Headers is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Emelianenko stands and steps away. Headers gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Emelianenko shoots in for a takedown but Headers shows good takedown defense. He's hooked one of Headers's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Headers's back! Emelianenko is persistently looking for the submission but Headers is defending it well.

Headers knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Headers for a finish. Emelianenko lands a punch to the side of the head from the back. Headers defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Emelianenko is working the back position looking for the choke. Oh, he's slid into an armbar! Beautiful transition and Headers taps out! Fantastic Jiu Jitsu from Emelianenko.
