This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the middleweight division. Introducing today's competitors. And in the blue corner, fighting out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 18 wins and 14 losses; Ceasar Rules! The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Alec Ball and Dillan Fox.
The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Rules shoots in looking for a takedown. Ramirez tries to sprawl out of it but Rules keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Ramirez manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Ramirez has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Rules closes the distance and clinches up with Ramirez, looking for a takedown. Rules pushes Ramirez against the cage but Ramirez circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Rules shoots in for a double leg but Ramirez sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Jackson Ramirez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. Ramirez is looking to counter the offense by Rules and move into the clinch. Ramirez dives in for a single leg takedown but Rules sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Ramirez gets control of Rules's arms and successfully pulls guard. Ramirez will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ramirez controlling the position. Ramirez slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
