Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Rick Richardson (ranked 2832 p4p, 25489 weight class) and Shin Otami (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 22 - 16 - 0, fighting out of London, Rick Richardson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 6 - 21 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Shin Otami! The judges for this bout are James Atkins, James Glass and Sam Margolis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Richardson has taken the fight to the clinch.
Otami jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Richardson walks away with a smile on his face. Otami gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Otami misses with a takedown attempt - Richardson sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Richardson has been working on his boxing with his coaches at CKC MMA in the buildup to the fight. Richardson cracks a nice hook into Otami's ribs. Otami takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Richardson jabs Otami right on the nose. Otami blinks but takes it well. Richardson lands a nice shot to the body.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Otami needs to keep his hands up - Richardson had a free shot at his head there. Richardson smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Richardson connects with a right hand. Otami shakes it off. Otami is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Richardson's jab looks to have found its range, popping Otami under the eye. Otami takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Otami is rocked! Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Otami. Otami is still on wobbly legs! Can Richardson finish him? Richardson clinches. Otami seems to have recovered his senses. A short right from Richardson on the inside.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nice body punch from Richardson - that landed with a thud.
Richardson lands a hook to the side of the head. Richardson works on Otami's body with a couple of short punches. Otami looks winded! Richardson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
A jab from Richardson does it's job there. Richardson throws a right hand that Otami ducks under and follows up with a left that Otami also avoids with ease. Otami shapes to counter with a head kick. Otami moves in looking to clinch but Richardson pushes him off. Richardson punishes Otami's body with a nice straight punch. Richardson lands a nice hook to Otami's body. Otami takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Richardson connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Otami takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Richardson closes the distance and pushes Otami back into the cage. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! A nice right hand lands inside from Richardson. That's two minutes gone in the round. Richardson lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Richardson creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Richardson softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. Richardson lands with a short head shot on the inside. Richardson gets through Otami's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Richardson lands with a light punch inside. Richardson pushes Otami back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. A short left from Richardson. Richardson pushes Otami back against the cage and unloads with a body punch. Richardson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Richardson fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Otami, pushing him back against the cage. Richardson gets through Otami's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Richardson stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body. Richardson lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. Richardson softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. Richardson creates a bit of space for himself and rocks Otami with a big uppercut! Otami tries to clinch up but Richardson pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples Otami to the mat! Otami covers up and Richardson unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!
