Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Tyshawn Santiago! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Bern Brescht! The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, James Atkins and Phil Schofield.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Brescht misses with a takedown and Santiago counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Brescht is refusing to be controlled, as Santiago sits in half guard. Santiago scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Brescht trying to control here.
Santiago takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Brescht regains full guard. Nicely done. Santiago loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Santiago knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Brescht on the ground. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Santiago throws a big elbow that misses. Santiago is fighting to break Brescht's control of his arms but Brescht is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Santiago drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Brescht dives on top into guard. Brescht sitting in guard here, content to control.

Santiago wants to improve his position but instead Brescht has moved into half guard.
Brescht decides to stand and escape the position. Brescht throws a wild body kick that Santiago sees coming a mile off. Santiago tries to clinch but Brescht is having none of it. Brescht is trying hard to land a takedown here. Santiago sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Brescht shoots in but Santiago avoids the takedown attempt easily. Tyshawn Santiago has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bern Brescht. Brescht throws a body kick, spinning off balance and Santiago counters with a three punch combo that has Brescht backing up. Brescht nods at Santiago to acknowledge the strikes. Santiago shoots in but Brescht avoids the takedown attempt easily. Santiago throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Brescht. Brescht displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Santiago. Brescht throws a counter combo. Brescht moves into the clinch successfully.

Brescht seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Santiago working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Brescht pulls Santiago in close to prevent any damage. Brescht looking to hit a scissor sweep but Santiago is one step ahead there. Santiago throws a big elbow that misses.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Santiago accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Santiago's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Santiago is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Brescht is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Brescht has escaped and now he's on top! Santiago trying to keep a closed guard but Brescht is proving a slippery customer.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Santiago holds on and takes a little breather. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Brescht tries to free his leg and advance position but Santiago is retaining full guard. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Tyshawn Santiago will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. Santiago keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Brescht has Santiago up against the cage in a clinch.
Santiago breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Brescht slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Brescht shoots in for a takedown but Santiago shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Brescht is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Santiago is defending well for now. The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch. Santiago pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Santiago shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Brescht pinned against the cage. Brescht gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Brescht throws a head kick that misses. Brescht lands a jab-cross combination.

Brescht is working for takedown but Santiago is calmly controlling the position for now. Brescht blocks an elbow strike. Brescht wants a takedown but no success here.

Tyshawn Santiago is winning the standup battle so far. A combination from Brescht does no damage. As Brescht tries to get set, Santiago tries to push him back and clinch up but Brescht manages to avoid the attempt. Santiago defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Brescht. Brescht tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Santiago manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. As Brescht looks to move away, Santiago throws a big counter combo but Brescht just gets out of the way. Tyshawn Santiago is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Brescht fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Santiago shoots in but no luck this time. Brescht misses with a body shot.
Santiago fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Brescht to the ground. Santiago is now in Brescht's guard. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Santiago throws a strike but Brescht rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Santiago tries to land a sweep but no joy. Santiago keeping moving, preventing Brescht from controlling successfully. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Bern Brescht will probably get the nod - 10:9. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round! Santiago misses with a double jab
and Brescht counters with a lovely straight right hand! Santiago shoots for a double leg takedown but Brescht sprawls well. He's pushed Santiago's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Santiago misses with the body kick and Brescht cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Brescht clinches with his opponent.
Brescht is trying to pull guard but Santiago turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Santiago pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Santiago is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Brescht.
Santiago is rocked! Santiago with a lazy takedown attempt and Brescht makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Oh Santiago is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Brescht goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. As Brescht looks to move away, Santiago throws a big counter combo but Brescht just gets out of the way. Nice sprawl there from Santiago as Brescht shoots in. Santiago changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Brescht misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Tyshawn Santiago has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bern Brescht. Santiago throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Santiago gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Brescht counters with a right, left combo that wobbles Santiago badly! Brescht follows up with a massive right hook, straight to the bridge of the nose that knocks Santiago out cold! Oh wow, what a finish! Very reminiscent of Koscheck vs Yoshida as Brescht finished him against the cage.
