Mondale has chosen Bad to the Bone as his entrance music. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Captain Maine!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Jack Mondale!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Paulsen Ambrosius and Albert Achterberg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Maine throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Mondale was covering up waiting for the punch and Maine finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Mondale manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

Maine gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Maine wants to pass the guard but Mondale is defending well.
Mondale tries to roll over but Maine keeps him under control.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Maine seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Maine moves into full mount! Mondale won't be happy about that!

Maine with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Maine pushing the pace here, looking to move to his opponents back and work for a finish.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Maine looking to control but Mondale is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Maine working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
Maine trying to control but he's not successful this time.

Maine has control of Mondale's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Mondale regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Mondale is squirming around, avoiding Maine's attempts to control the action.

Maine goes for an armbar but Mondale turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Mondale.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Maine is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Mondale rolls with it to try and escape but Maine cranks on the arm and Mondale is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
