PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Nelson Daluz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Future (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Nelson Daluz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Chris Future!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Chad Campbell and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Future closes the distance and clinches up with Daluz, looking for a takedown. Future pushes Daluz against the cage but Daluz circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
A head kick misses from Future.

Future has closed the distance and engaged Daluz in a clinch.
Future tries to score a body lock takedown but Daluz shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Daluz has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Future avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
A short left from Daluz.

Future has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Daluz uses from the top position.
Daluz stays in close to Future's body and controls the position.
Future keeping full guard, as Daluz tries to pass.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Future prevents Daluz from getting the reversal.
Daluz looks out of his depth in this position - he's holding on tight.
Daluz is squirming around, avoiding Future's attempts to control the action.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Future cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Future fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Daluz, pushing him back against the cage.
Daluz jumps guard but Future stands there with Daluz around his waist. Daluz gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Daluz tries to pull guard but Future won't allow it.

Daluz breaks the clinch.
Future shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Future doesn't manage to clinch there - Daluz circles away.
Daluz has his takedown stuffed

and Future counters with a takedown into side control.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nelson Daluz. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Future working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Future trying to control the action but Daluz is working from the bottom.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Daluz is trying to work for a sweep but Future has mounted him!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Daluz wants to control from the top but Future keeps moving.
Future is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Daluz is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Future looking to control.
Daluz is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Future is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

Future can't keep his opponent in guard - Daluz advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Daluz trying to control the action but Future is working from the bottom.
Daluz is looking to stall here but Future recovers full guard.

Daluz passes Future's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Daluz is taking a breather. Future says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Future keeps control of the position for the meantime.
Daluz wants to stand but Future has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Chris Future showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Daluz would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Daluz sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Future's guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Future is trying to maintain the position but Daluz is very close to passing his half guard.
Future tries to get to full guard but Daluz has control of the leg.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

and Future counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Daluz's guard now.
Future passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Future thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Future wants to lay and pray for a moment but Daluz keeps working.
Daluz is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Daluz is looking to get back to is feet but Future passes into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Daluz is not content to let Future control the position.
Daluz is trying to get back to half guard.
Future is looking to take a break and control but Daluz is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Daluz trying to remain calm as Future controls from the top position.

And that's the end of the fight!
Chris Future comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Future winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
