Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Kenny Mason!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Thomas Davis!
The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Josh West and Jeff Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Davis connects with an inside leg kick.

Davis gets tackled into the cage by Mason. Mason maintains the clinch.
Mason tries to pull guard but Davis won't allow it.
Mason is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Davis pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Nice body punch from Mason - that landed with a thud.

Mason ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Mason no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Davis wanted to stand there but Mason had control of the position.
Mason looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Davis puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mason is looking for a sweep. Davis is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Mason keeps control of the position for the meantime.
Davis prevents Mason from standing back up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Mason wants to control but Davis is keeping busy.
Davis is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Mason is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.

Mason looking for submissions off his back.

Mason pushes Davis off and gets back to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Davis throws a nice head kick!
Davis looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Davis pushes Mason away with a front kick.
Davis misses with a series of wild punches.
Davis works over Mason's head and body with a nice combination.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Excellent takedown into side control there by Mason.
Davis is looking to get back to his feet here but Mason is keeping cool and he's managed to take Davis's back.
Mason is riding his opponent, not letting Davis buck him off.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Mason looking for the RNC.

Mason is working for the choke. It looks like he might have got it... has he...? Yes! Davis is tapping out! This one is all over!
