Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 34 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Xi Daerji!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Tommy Fu !
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Yuuki Gou and Yasuomi Hirokawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Daerji darts in looking for a takedown but Fu gets double underhooks and turns Daerji into the cage.
Daerji breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Fu scores with a shot to the body.
Fu lands with a nice body kick.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Fu .
Daerji looks to land a right hand but Fu moved out of range.
Fu changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Daerji fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Fu avoids it really well and circles away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Fu looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Fu throws a head kick that Daerji semi-blocks.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Fu changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Daerji shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Fu but Fu pushes him off and we're back to square one.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Xi Daerji. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Fu lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Fu goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Fu circles to his right before unloading a perfect head kick! Daerji drops to the canvas, hurt badly! Fu follows Daerji to the ground and unloads with a series of strikes that force the referee to step in and end the fight! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:37 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Tommy Fu !
Tommy Fu spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
