PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chaos Kemppainen (ranked 96 p4p, 464 weight class) and Jeff Christ (ranked 14 p4p, 69 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Jeff Christ was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Chaos Kemppainen!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jeff Christ!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Richard Clark and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Christ feints and as Kemppainen raises his hands in defense, Christ changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Christ accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Christ looking to sit in guard and control but Kemppainen gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Christ is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Christ is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Kemppainen is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Kemppainen has escaped and now he's on top!

Our spies down at at Gronk Apes inform us that Christ has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?

Christ tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Kemppainen defends well and Christ ends up having to push Kemppainen into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
It looked like Kemppainen was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Christ.

That was a close round but I would say that Chaos Kemppainen will probably get the nod.
