Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Uli Mirzeski! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Piotr Karski! The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Marco Blurström and Matti Vanhoillinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mirzeski slips a straight right by Karski. Mirzeski half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Karski throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Mirzeski attempts a counter takedown but Karski avoids it well and moves away. Karski throws a series of punches but Mirzeski moves out of range. Mirzeski attempts a counter takedown but Karski avoids it well and moves away. Left hook, right uppercut from Karski.
It looks like Uli Mirzeski has been cut. Sloppy strikes from Karski. Those never looked like landing. Mirzeski feinted with a counter takedown. Karski throws a nice looking combination but Mirzeski bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Mirzeski drops down looking for a counter takedown but Karski sprawls and moves away. We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Karski has eaten all the pies! Karski misses with a combination
and Mirzeski counters with a shoot takedown. Karski fights it but they end up in guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Mirzeski is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Karski really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mirzeski. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Mirzeski passes into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mirzeski has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Mirzeski content just to control the position here. Mirzeski thowing shots but they're missing. Karski wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Mirzeski.
Karski is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mirzeski in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Karski tries to buck Mirzeski off so he can stand up but Mirzeski has got his back now - this could be big trouble! He's slapped on a rear naked choke that looks really tight! Karski falls backwards, slamming Mirzeski to the mat but Mirzeski holds on tight! Karski is forced to tap and this one is all over!
