Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dan Markus (ranked 4062 p4p, 25161 weight class) and Usaa Mera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dan Markus looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Usaa Mera!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Gwen Towbar and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mera closes the distance and clinches up with Markus, looking for a takedown. Mera pushes Markus against the cage but Markus circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Mera looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Markus is fending him off so far but Mera persists. Nope, Markus circles away and we're back to standing.
Mera bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Markus looks to land a combination. Mera sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Mera moves forwards but Markus connects with a nice, crisp jab.

Usaa Mera seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Markus, as that shot connected.
Mera changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Markus tries to avoid it but Mera manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Markus to the ground. Markus escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Dan Markus showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Markus has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

In his post fight interview, Dan Markus started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
