Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mateo Velez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marco Polo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Velez's entrance music is Jefe-Daddy Yankee. A fine choice. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mateo Velez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Marco Polo! The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Thiago Cunha and Felipe Paraventi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Polo keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
A combination from Velez does no damage. Velez lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Polo circles away quickly and effectively. Velez misses with the combination.
Polo swats away the attempt to clinch by Velez. Polo shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Velez manages to escape and get back to his feet! Velez misses with a takedown so Polo counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Polo looking to pass the guard. Polo trying to control but Velez is working from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Velez looking for a guillotine here but Polo defends easily.
Polo advances position into side control! Polo wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Velez, who protects the arm well. Polo in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. Polo is looking to take a break and control but Velez is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Polo tries for a kimura but Velez is defending well. Polo throws an elbow but Velez slips to the side and avoids it well. Polo has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Velez is trying to improve his position. Velez throws an elbow to the body but it doesn't land. Polo looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Polo tries to score with some ground and pound. Velez controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Velez is looking for a sweep. Polo has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Velez! Velez tries to reverse the position but Polo maintains control. Velez reaches up to try and control the position but Polo seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Velez rolls and tries to escape and now Polo has his back!
Velez tries to escape but Polo has the hooks in and won't let him break free. Polo is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Velez with him. Velez is trying to defend but Polo has an arm under the chin now! Velez grimaces and is forced to tap out!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:01 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Marco Polo!
