The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way. Cruz fails with the takedown. Rolla throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Cruz tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Rolla is in Cruz's guard. Cruz perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Rolla is looking to improve his position.

That's nine minutes gone in the round. Rolla trying to control the position here. My spies in HELLCADEMY inform me that Cruz has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends! Rolla looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Cruz is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Rolla has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Cruz is looking to defend but Rolla has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Cruz! Rolla pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Cruz taps out and this one is all over!
