This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the super heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Rio de Janeiro, with a TWGC record of 3 wins and 0 losses; Mr Pervitin! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, with a TWGC record of 2 wins and 1 losses; Mehdi Illir! The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Reed Andrews and Russell Pearce.
The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Pervitin gets in close and instigates a clinch. Pervitin has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Illir is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Pervitin is trying to trip Illir. He has hold of a leg but Illir is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Pervitin persists though and gets the takedown into guard. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Pervitin (2) vs (0) Illir Illir is looking for a triangle but Pervitin pushes his legs off easily.
Pervitin has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Pervitin pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Illir is keeping the position for now. Pervitin trying to control the position from guard on top but Illir is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Pervitin drops back looking for a leg! Illir is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Illir manages to kick Pervitin off! Pervitin jumps back into Illir's guard. Illir throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Illir has his foot on Pervitin's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Pervitin works his way back into a safe position though. Pervitin is pushing down on Illir's leg trying to pass to half guard. Illir is fighting to maintain full guard but Pervitin has managed to sneak the leg through. Illir slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Pervitin drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Pervitin jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Illir has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Pervitin can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Pervitin tries to free his leg and advance position but Illir is retaining full guard. Pervitin trying to control the position from guard on top but Illir is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Illir is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Illir escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Pervitin gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Pervitin trying to control but Illir is working from the bottom. Illir has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Pervitin should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Illir has tightened it up now! Pervitin should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
