Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Matt Cordova (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lu Frank (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lu Frank has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Matt Cordova! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Lu Frank! The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, John Roberts and Columbo Gatti.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A head kick lands from Frank that sends Cordova to the canvas. Cordova tries to scramble back to his feet but Frank brings him back down into side control.
It looks like Matt Cordova has been cut. Cordova wants to get back to his feet. Frank content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though. I looks like Frank might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cordova wants to get back to his feet but Frank drags him back down. Cordova defending against the ground and pound. Frank tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily. Frank is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Cordova has escaped the position, nice work there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Frank is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. Frank tries to advance to mount but can't.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Frank wants to stand but Cordova has his arm trapped.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Frank takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Cordova dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Frank. That did some damage! Cordova throws a sloppy head kick and Frank counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Frank. Cordova could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Frank keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Cordova's efforts to push away. Cordova wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Frank tries to stall but Cordova uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Frank looks gassed! Frank is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace. Cordova tries to break free but Frank pushes him back against the ropes. Cordova wants to break the clinch but can't.

Frank tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Cordova swivels and escapes. Frank takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Cordova leaves Frank with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Cordova lands with a thumping leg kick.
Cordova throws a sloppy head kick and Frank counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Cordova wants to get back to his feet but Frank is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Frank trying to control the position from guard on top but Cordova is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Lu Frank dominated that round. The cut man is working on Matt Cordova's cut. That's time! Back to the action!
Cordova pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Matt Cordova seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Cordova misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Cordova throws a lazy head kick and Frank counters with a series of strikes. Cordova will be more careful next time no doubt. Frank forces Cordova back against the ropes and clinches. Cordova has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Frank works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. Frank sitting in guard here, content to control. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Frank trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Frank not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Frank gets to his feet - Cordova follows without any prompting. A thudding body kick lands there by Cordova!
A head kick by Cordova misses and Frank counters with a thumping low kick. Cordova rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Frank moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Frank moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Frank fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cordova throws a lazy head kick and Frank counters by clinching up. Cordova wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Cordova manages to break the clinch.
Cordova gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Frank to score an easy takedown into full guard. Frank stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Cordova swivels though and keeps the full guard. Cordova can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Frank controls the pace.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Frank trying to control the position from guard on top but Cordova is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Frank is looking to advance position but Cordova has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Lu Frank showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Matt Cordova's cut. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Frank escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Frank shoots for a takedown but Cordova saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Cordova throws a lazy head kick and Frank counters by clinching up. Frank pulls Cordova into guard.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Frank is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Frank wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Cordova manages to pass to side control. Cordova seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Frank tries to roll over but Cordova keeps him under control. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Cordova tries to bum rush Frank with a series of wild strikes but Frank uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Cordova throws a lazy head kick and Frank counters with an outside leg kick.
Cordova throws a head kick that misses and Frank counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Frank. Frank keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Cordova's head. Frank throws and elbow that misses. Cordova uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Frank's guard. Nice move by Cordova! Cordova wanted to stand there but Frank had control of the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Frank pulls Cordova in close to his closed guard and prevents Cordova from doing any damage or advancing position. Cordova might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Frank looking to control.
Matt Cordova has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Lu Frank is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Frank is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
And that's the end of the fight! Lu Frank comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Frank has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
