The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way. Marston keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Marston has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Gordon tries to score a power double leg takedown but Marston sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Gordon somewhat. Marston scores with a nice takedown into half guard. You can see the frustration on Gordon's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Marston is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Gordon will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. Gordon is looking for a sweep. Marston looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Marston is working to tighten his grip on Gordon's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Gordon has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Marston is really squeezing tight and eventually Gordon passes out!
