Lima closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Marshall did well to prevent Lima getting side control. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Lima (2) vs (0) Marshall Marshall is controlling Lima's trapped leg to prevent Lima from advancing to side control. Marshall is looking to get back to full guard here but Lima has managed to pass to side control instead. Score +3 for passing guard: Lima (5) vs (0) Marshall Lima has knee on belly momentarily but Marshall bucks him off and regains half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Marshall regains full guard. Nicely done. Lima being controlled here momentarily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Let's hope that Marshall has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. We're seeing a lot of stalling here from Marshall.

The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Lima working a defensive guard here.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Marshall pushing down on Lima's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Lima is trying to maintain the position but Marshall is very close to passing his half guard. Marshall trying to mount his opponent but Lima defends it. Marshall looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Lima wants to improve his position but Marshall is controlling well.
Marshall is pressing down on Lima's thigh, looking to free his foot. Lima is holding on for now.
Marshall is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Lima is just riding it out for now. Marshall eventually gives up the hold. Lima is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Alpha Brasil, so we'll see if he gets out of it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
