And in the blue corner, fighting out of Tokyo, with a TWGC record of 44 wins and 30 losses; John McCain!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Ian Loll and Trevor Gratis.
The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way.
Elvul misses with a takedown attempt - McCain sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Elvul throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. McCain was covering up waiting for the punch and Elvul finishes the takedown easily into guard. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Elvul (2) vs (0) McCain
Elvul stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. McCain swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Elvul trying to control but McCain is working from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now McCain is on top in guard.

Elvul is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and McCain defends well.
McCain trying to control the position from guard on top but Elvul is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Elvul controls McCain momentarily but McCain frees himself.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Elvul escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. McCain gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

McCain forces his way into half guard.
McCain is controlling the pace.
Let's hope that McCain has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Elvul is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Oblivion Gate, so we'll see if he gets out of it.

Elvul is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of McCain's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take McCain's back! Score +4 for clean sweep to past guard: Elvul (6) vs (2) McCain
McCain is looking to control the hands but Elvul breaks free and manages to sink in a rear naked choke that ends the fight!
