And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Nathanial McGuire!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Franklyn Lucas and John Roberts.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.

Johnson gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows McGuire to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Johnson is adopting a defensive guard.
McGuire passes Johnson's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Johnson is looking for a sweep. McGuire is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Johnson is defending against the submission attempts here by McGuire.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
McGuire keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.

Johnson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for McGuire on the ground.
McGuire looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.

McGuire is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Johnson sees it coming and defends easily.
Johnson trying to hold on to McGuire's head to control him but McGuire postures up.

McGuire is working for a submission of some sort.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
McGuire frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
McGuire wants to control but Johnson has made it back to half guard. Nice work.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Johnson is trying to get back to full guard.
McGuire is looking to take a break and control but Johnson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

McGuire is looking for a kimura here.
Johnson is looking for a sweep. McGuire is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

McGuire is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Johnson defends it well.

Johnson kicks McGuire off and gets back to his feet.

McGuire shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Johnson napping and manages to drive through into side control!
McGuire content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.

McGuire tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no McGuire has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Johnson is trying to improve his position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

McGuire tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

McGuire goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Johnson has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for McGuire but great work by Johnson.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Johnson shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with McGuire but McGuire pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Johnson moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Johnson wants to hit a sweep here but McGuire passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Johnson there!

Johnson is trying to reverse the position but instead McGuire has taken his back - oops!

McGuire is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Johnson defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

McGuire has the hooks in and he's looking for a rear naked choke here. Johnson is defending well but eventually McGuire manages to get an arm under the chin and he's locked on the RNC! Johnson has no choice but to tap now! He does! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Nathanial McGuire!
