Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jeremy Marks (ranked 1285 p4p, 1564 weight class) and Bartholomew Bainbridge (ranked 174 p4p, 207 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jeremy Marks!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 15 - 1, fighting out of London, Bartholomew Bainbridge!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Gregory Folan and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bainbridge shoots in but Marks avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Marks keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Bainbridge drives through with a takedown into guard.
Marks is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Bainbridge is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Bainbridge pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Marks is keeping the position for now.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Bainbridge postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Marks is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Bainbridge, into his guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Marks wants to get up but he can't break Bainbridge's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Bainbridge has his foot on Marks's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Marks works his way back into a safe position though.

Bainbridge had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Marks defends it easily.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Bartholomew Bainbridge seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Marks stuffs the takedown attempt from Bainbridge. Bainbridge gets slowly back to his feet.
Jeremy Marks has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bartholomew Bainbridge.

Marks throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Bainbridge changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Marks tries to avoid it but Bainbridge manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Marks to the ground. Marks escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Bainbridge is defended easily by Marks.
Bainbridge shoots for a double leg takedown but Marks sprawls well. He's pushed Bainbridge's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Bainbridge looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Marks!

Marks throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Marks will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Marks bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Bainbridge's head.
Marks connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Bainbridge misses with a takedown attempt
and Marks counters with a series of strikes. Bainbridge will be more careful next time no doubt.
Bainbridge takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Marks pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Bainbridge back to the cage. Marks follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

Marks looked to counter with a high kick but didn't commit.

Marks lands a big head kick that sends Bainbridge tumbling to the mat! Marks takes a step backwards and waves Bainbridge back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Bainbridge shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Marks as he avoids it easily.
Marks thinks about countering with a head kick.

and Marks counters with a left to the body.
Marks tries a head kick but it misses.
Bainbridge shoots for a takedown but Marks saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Bainbridge has a takedown stuffed.

Some wild striking there from Marks.
Marks throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Bainbridge's head.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Marks. Bainbridge shrugs it off though.
Bainbridge has a takedown stuffed.
Marks lands a nice hook to Bainbridge's body. Bainbridge takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Bainbridge has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Marks finds it's way round the side to connect with Bainbridge's head.
A looping hook to the body misses from Marks. Bainbridge does a little dance to reset his feet.
Bainbridge is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
Bainbridge shoots for a takedown but Marks saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Bainbridge is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

No luck for Bainbridge with that takedown attempt.
Marks with a jab.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Donk. Marks catches Bainbridge right on the button with a cross.
Bainbridge is still on wobbly legs! Can Marks finish him?
Bainbridge avoids the head kick by Marks.
Bainbridge seems to have recovered his senses.
Marks lands with a thumping leg kick.
No luck for Bainbridge with that takedown attempt.
Marks swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.

and Marks counters with a big left hand that crumples Bainbridge! He was out before he hit the floor! Brutal knockout!
