The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dalrymple cracks a nice hook into Soares's ribs.
Dalrymple uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Soares.
Dalrymple scores with the left hand. Soares knows he should have avoided that one.
Dalrymple stuns Soares with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

Teddy Dalrymple seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Dalrymple is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Dalrymple wants to get back to full guard.
Soares working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Dalrymple is doing well to control the position and prevent Soares from advancing to side control.

Soares remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Soares looks up at the clock and then as Dalrymple takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Soares smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
