Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Kallu Terhonen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Melatonin Mitch!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Arvi Lind and Anni Minnemäki.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Terhonen checks a low kick from Mitch.
Terhonen swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Terhonen throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Mitch stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Terhonen tries to land a body kick
and Mitch counters with a stiff right hand.
Terhonen throws an overhand right that lands on Mitch's shoulder, as Mitch tries to avoid the shot.
Terhonen feints and then cracks Mitch's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Mitch down.
Mitch tries to land a front kick but Terhonen steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Terhonen checks a low kick from Mitch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mitch throws a body punch but Terhonen moves out of range.
Mitch misses with a hook to the body
and Terhonen counters with an inside leg kick.
Terhonen feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Mitch sprawling to the canvas! Mitch rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Terhonen finish him?!
Mitch is rocked!
It looks like Melatonin Mitch has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Mitch throws a body kick, spinning off balance
and Terhonen counters with a nice low kick that buckles Mitch's knee momentarily.
Mitch looks winded!
That's one minute gone in the round.
Mitch uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Terhonen.
Terhonen with the inside leg kick.
Terhonen definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Mitch keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Terhonen.
Terhonen throws a head kick that misses.
Terhonen throws a series of punches but Mitch avoids them all with ease.
Terhonen thumps Mitch with a low kick.
Terhonen lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Melatonin Mitch seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A looping hook to the body misses from Mitch. Terhonen does a little dance to reset his feet.
Mitch throws a leg kick that is checked
and Terhonen counters with a powerful cross that connects right on the chin and the lights go out! A massive one punch knock out!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Kallu Terhonen!
A relieved looking Kallu Terhonen thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
