Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hector Bonilla! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jimmy Regino! The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Daniel Franklin and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Regino scores with a takedown into Bonilla's guard. Bonilla utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Bonilla bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Regino's guard. Bonilla is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Regino has his foot on Bonilla's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Bonilla works his way back into a safe position though. Regino has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Bonilla can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Regino looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Bonilla has picked Regino up and slammed him! Regino can't keep hold of the triangle and Bonilla manages to pass to side control! Bonilla thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Regino tries to contro but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bonilla looking to secure an arm triangle but Regino defends it well. Regino is working to get back to half guard.
Bonilla is working for a guillotine from mount but Regino frees his head quite easily.
Bonilla is breathing heavily. Regino is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Bonilla will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Regino is in all sorts of trouble here.
Regino wants to control but Bonilla is having none of it. Regino wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back. Regino is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Bonilla off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Regino turns into Bonilla and is now in his guard.
Bonilla can't keep his opponent in guard - Regino advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Regino is taking a breather. Bonilla says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Regino stops Bonilla from getting back to his feet.
Regino really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bonilla. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Regino moves nicely into side control. Bonilla really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. The ground and pound from Regino seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Regino wants to control but Bonilla is keeping him busy.
That's three minutes gone in the round. You can see the frustration on Bonilla's face as Regino controls the position. Regino tries for a kimura but Bonilla is defending well. Regino trying to control the position but Bonilla is working away. Regino tries to score with some ground and pound. Bonilla controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Bonilla is looking for a sweep.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Regino scores with a takedown into Bonilla's guard. Regino not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Regino advances to half guard. Regino wants to control but Bonilla is keeping him busy. Regino perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Regino is looking for a kimura but Bonilla is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Regino to get the leverage. Regino sitting and controlling from the half guard. Regino is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Bonilla sees it coming and defends easily. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Regino rushes Bonilla and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Regino has picked Bonilla up - he's going for a ride! Regino dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. Regino wants to free his trapped foot but Bonilla is holding on for dear life with his legs. Regino content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Regino is actively looking for submissions here but good counter grappling here from Bonilla as he works his way to full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round. Regino trying to control the position from guard on top but Bonilla is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Regino drops back looking for a leg! Bonilla is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Bonilla manages to kick Regino off! Regino jumps back into Bonilla's guard. Bonilla has an active guard here but Regino has managed to pass into half guard.
Regino is trying to control. Bonilla wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Regino tries to pass to full mount but Bonilla defends it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Regino in particular looking to stall. Bonilla is refusing to be controlled, as Regino sits in half guard.
Despite being in the dominant position, Jimmy Regino just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Bonilla misses with a takedown attempt and Regino counters with a takedown into side control. Regino throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. Regino just content to control the position. Regino's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Bonilla is not content to let Regino control the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Regino just content to control the position. Bonilla is not content to let Regino control the position. Regino misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Regino is trying to get an arm triangle but Bonilla is defending well. Regino is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Bonilla knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Regino is looking to take a break and control but Bonilla is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Despite being in the dominant position, Jimmy Regino just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Regino closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Bonilla to the mat! Bonilla manages to get full guard. Regino is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Let's hope that Regino has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Regino performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Bonilla tries to get to full guard but Regino has control of the leg. Regino is working for a submission of some sort.

Regino lands with a punch from half guard. Jimmy Regino has got the better of the ground game so far. Regino missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Bonilla keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Regino frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Bonilla is squirming around, avoiding Regino's attempts to control the action. Jimmy Regino is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Regino controlling the position easily from mount. Regino moves to the back position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Regino slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Hector Bonilla has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
