Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 44 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Magomed Magomedsharipov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Butch Cassidy!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Magomedsharipov shoots and misses
and Cassidy counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Magomedsharipov wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Cassidy is now in half guard.
Cassidy decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Cassidy connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Cassidy thows a body kick. Magomedsharipov tries to catch it but that hurt him.
Magomedsharipov changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Cassidy tries to avoid it but Magomedsharipov manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Cassidy to the ground. Cassidy escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Cassidy scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Cassidy's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Cassidy duly obliges.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Magomedsharipov shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Cassidy counters with a two punch combo.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Magomed Magomedsharipov. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Magomedsharipov has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Magomedsharipov fails with the takedown
and Cassidy counters with a series of strikes. Magomedsharipov will be more careful next time no doubt.
Magomedsharipov is breathing heavily.
Cassidy gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Cassidy pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

and Cassidy counters with a two punch combo.
A nice leg kick from Cassidy, right into the meat of the thigh.

Cassidy lands a big head kick that sends Magomedsharipov tumbling to the mat! Cassidy takes a step backwards and waves Magomedsharipov back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Magomedsharipov is rocked!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
I'm just looking down at my notes here and I see that.... oh! Cassidy has cracked Magomedsharipov with a big right, followed by a left! He's out on his feet! Cassidy lands another huge swinging hook and Magomedsharipov tumbles to the canvas! The ref dives in to save Magomedsharipov, before Cassidy can land any more shots!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Butch Cassidy!
An out of breath Butch Cassidy thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
